Take-Two says more than 90% of its sales are digitally distributed, underlining how little reliance the GTA 6 publisher now has on physical game discs. The disclosure matters amid Sony’s move away from manufacturing disc-based games, with Take-Two arguing that its business is already predominantly digital.
The company raised its fiscal 2027 net bookings forecast from $8bn to $8.2bn, citing momentum and pre-order interest ahead of GTA 6’s planned 19 November launch. Physical games accounted for about 2% of quarterly revenue and 3% of revenue in the previous full financial year, while its mobile business fell 7% in the first quarter; Take-Two shares nevertheless opened 1.9% lower at $228.20.
