Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Rebirth are continuing to sell strongly, boosted by the reveal of the trilogy's concluding chapter, Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, at Summer Game Fest 2026. Trilogy director Naoki Hamaguchi told Automaton that sales are "performing even better than most people probably imagine", noting a pattern where renewed attention on one instalment drives interest and purchases of the others. This matters for Square Enix as it heads towards releasing the final part of one of gaming's most high-profile remake projects, with sustained back-catalogue sales suggesting healthy momentum ahead of launch.

Hamaguchi could not share specific figures, citing investor relations policy, but highlighted PC as a growing driver, with the Simplified Chinese market now rivalling the strength of English-speaking sales. He also revealed that Revelation will make some minigames skippable and adjust rewards in response to player feedback on Rebirth, and noted that over 90% of Remake's original staff have remained on the project through to Revelation. Final Fantasy 7 Revelation is due in spring 2027 for Nintendo Switch 2, PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, though Square Enix has yet to confirm whether it will be released on physical disc.
