Producer Manny Halley is taking over Quixote’s former 125,000-square-foot Pacoima studio lease to establish Imani Studio, providing a new production base as Quixote reduces its exposure to underused soundstage space. The deal matters because it keeps a major Los Angeles production facility active amid a sustained downturn in film and television work, while expanding Black-owned infrastructure in the entertainment sector.

The complex has four soundstages on six acres, and Halley will hold a 10-year lease from 1 September, with three further five-year extension options; Rexford Industrial Realty owns the property. Imani plans to produce BET’s mockumentary Lot Patrol, a True to the Game series and animated show Dribble 2 Much there, while the site previously hosted productions including RuPaul’s Drag Race and MaXXXine. Los Angeles soundstage occupancy averaged 62% in the first half of 2025 after studio spending cuts, prompting efforts to retain production and jobs in California.
