As rivals chase acquisitions, Peacock bets on bundles through a new deal with YouTube
NBCUniversal and YouTube have announced a multi-year global partnership that will bring Peacock's content directly into YouTube Premium, marking a shift away from the consolidation strategy pursued by rivals such as Paramount Skydance and Fox. Rather than pursuing mergers, NBCUniversal is doubling down on distribution partnerships to place its content where audiences already spend time, while the deal strengthens YouTube's push to become a central hub for streaming, sport and creator content as it competes for viewing time with platforms like TikTok.
From early 2027, US YouTube Premium subscribers will gain access to Peacock's Premium plan, including NFL and NBA coverage, "Saturday Night Live", "Love Island USA", "Law & Order: SVU" and Bravo shows such as "The Real Housewives". NBCUniversal's international services, Universal+ and Hayu, will also be offered through YouTube Premium in select markets, while Peacock Premium — its $10.99-a-month ad-supported tier — will become available as a separate add-on via YouTube Primetime Channels later this summer, following the Premium Plus tier already added in late June. The tie-up follows Peacock's first-ever quarterly profit in the second quarter of 2026 and comes as the service, which has 48 million paid subscribers, extends earlier distribution deals with Amazon and Apple.
