Ubisoft has announced that Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, its remake of the 2013 pirate adventure, sold over 3 million copies in its first week across PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. The milestone builds on a strong launch, during which the game reportedly outperformed Assassin's Creed Shadows to become Ubisoft's best-selling title on Steam, suggesting Black Flag Resynced could ultimately become the best-selling entry in the entire series.

The figure was shared via the official Assassin's Creed social media account, alongside confirmation that a New Game Plus mode is in development, something previously teased by the game's director. On its 9 July launch, the remake sold 2 million units and peaked at over 104,000 concurrent players on Steam alone. The rollout has not been entirely smooth, however, with the game briefly review-bombed over heavy launch-day microtransactions and hit by a Ubisoft Connect outage that left it unplayable on PC despite being advertised as offline-capable. Reports also suggest Ubisoft is working on a remake of the original Assassin's Creed, potentially timed for the series' 20th anniversary in late 2027.
