Aston Villa agree deal for West Ham’s Wan-Bissaka

BBC Sport · 3 hours ago

Aston Villa have agreed a deal to sign West Ham defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka, with the move set to go through as an initial loan carrying an obligation to buy at the end of the season. The DR Congo right-back has been given permission to have a medical in the Midlands, though the exact financial terms remain undisclosed after West Ham had previously sought a £25m fee from interested clubs; the 28-year-old has sat out West Ham's opening two Championship matches while negotiations played out.

The signing forms part of a busy summer of business for both clubs. West Ham, now in the Championship, have also sold Mateus Fernandes to Tottenham for £85m and Crysencio Summerville for £60m, though captain Jarrod Bowen has committed his future with a new contract. Villa, who have the lowest net spend in the Premier League this summer at around £110m after sales including Morgan Rogers to Chelsea for £117m, have still brought in Johan Manzambi, Joao Gomes, Alejandro Garnacho and Modou Keba Cisse ahead of their Premier League opener at Brighton on Sunday and a Champions League campaign following last season's Europa League triumph.
