ASUS has launched its first gaming-focused soundbar, the ROG Gjallar, in the US, priced at $600. First unveiled in early July, the device is built around multiplayer gaming and features integrated microphones designed to filter teammates' voices and in-game audio while suppressing background noise, allowing headset-free communication without losing voice clarity.

Named after the mythical horn Gjallarhorn from Norse mythology, the soundbar uses a 5.1.2-channel setup to deliver three-dimensional Dolby Atmos sound, paired with a wireless 6.5-inch, 65W subwoofer connected via a dedicated 5GHz link to avoid lag. Its control hub includes an LCD screen for adjusting volume, playback, inputs and EQ settings, and it offers extensive connectivity including USB-C, HDMI 2.1 with eARC, optical, 3.5mm AUX and Bluetooth 5.3, plus two USB-A ports for accessories, making it compatible with PCs, Macs, consoles and TVs. The Gjallar is listed on Best Buy and ASUS's US site, though stock appears currently unavailable, with a "Notify Me" option offered to interested buyers.
