Atlus Producer Says ‘I Think We Have to Do’ Persona 1 and 2 Remakes

IGN · 4 hours ago

Kazuhisa Wada, producer at Atlus' P-Studio, has said he believes the company "should definitely" remake the first two Persona games, adding "I think we have to do it," although he stopped short of confirming any such projects are in development. The comments, made in an interview with GamerBraves, will fuel long-standing hopes among fans that Atlus will extend its remake programme beyond Persona 3 and 4, though nothing has been officially greenlit and any such titles would likely be years away.

Persona 1 and 2, originally released in the 1990s as Revelations: Persona and Persona 2: Innocent Sin/Eternal Punishment, have so far been left out of Atlus' modernisation efforts. This follows the well-received Persona 3 Reload, which IGN scored 9/10, and comes ahead of Persona 4 Revival, due on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on 18 February 2027. Atlus is also developing Persona 6, first previewed in June, alongside a reported live-action television adaptation of the franchise.
