BAE systems outage halts US bankruptcy notices nationwide
A cybersecurity incident affecting systems run by BAE Systems has taken the US Bankruptcy Noticing Center offline, disrupting the production and distribution of bankruptcy notices nationwide. Courts can still accept filings and process documents, but notices and orders may be delayed while the vendor investigates and restores service.
The outage began on 9 October, according to a Texas bankruptcy court, and affects electronic and paper notices as well as several BNC websites and services. That court extended certain stay-related delays by 30 days for cases filed on or after 14 September; BAE said the incident is isolated to the BNC system and that it is coordinating its response with the US Courts.
