Audible has produced an all-new, full-cast audio adaptation of Bram Stoker's "Dracula", commissioning seven separate language versions to expand its Gothic horror catalogue for a global audience. The English-language edition draws on film and television talent, with Jonathan Bailey ("Wicked", "Bridgerton") voicing Dracula, alongside Ella Purnell as Mina, Aimee Lou Wood as Lucy, Louis Partridge, David Jonsson, Lesley Manville and Maggie Gyllenhaal completing the ensemble, underlining Audible's strategy of using recognisable screen stars to elevate premium scripted audio.
Versions are also being made in Castilian Spanish, French, German, Italian, Latin American Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese, each with its own cast, including Omar Sy and Deva Cassel in French and Matthias Schweighöfer in German. It is directed by Mary Lambert, known for the film "Pet Sematary", in her audiobook directorial debut, with a script by Robyn Ahern and an original score by Ilan Eshkeri. The English, French, Italian and both Spanish editions launch on 1 October 2026, the German version follows on 9 February 2027, and a Brazilian Portuguese edition, with cast yet to be announced, is due sometime in 2027.
