Residents at Tarragal Glen Retirement Village in Erina, New South Wales, say they no longer feel safe after alleged repeated incidents involving young e-bike riders. The village claims groups of teenagers have abused residents, ridden dangerously, damaged property and disrupted communal areas, prompting calls for greater police intervention.

Village manager Jodie Shelly said the behaviour had escalated and included damage to gates costing more than A$100,000, threats towards a resident’s dog, objects being thrown at staff cars and damage to a bowling green. She has requested more afternoon police patrols, while reporting that incidents have declined since the village publicised the problem and that local schools may have helped identify some riders.
