Australian denies murdering Thai teenager whose body was found in suitcase
Australian truck driver Simon Peter Carman, 45, denies murdering 17-year-old Tunchanok “Cake” Donhomla in Pattaya, Thailand. He told the ABC from prison that she attacked him with a knife during a dispute over payment, died during the struggle, and that he hid her body in a suitcase because he did not trust the police.
Donhomla’s body was found near railway tracks on 27 June, two days after CCTV showed her entering Carman’s condominium with him. An autopsy found a brain injury and suffocation, while police said Carman’s DNA matched evidence from the body; he has pleaded not guilty to four charges, including murder, concealing a corpse and abducting a minor, with the case due back in court on 12 October.
