Australian entertainment lawyer Marcus Walkom has launched his own independent practice, Walkom Entertainment Lawyers, based in Brisbane, following the closure of Media Arts Lawyers in July, the firm he had been a partner at since 2021. The move creates a new player in Australasian music law, with Walkom bringing an established roster of artists and industry clients to the venture as it opens.

The new firm launches with clients including Wolfmother, The Teskey Brothers, Tigerlily, The Amity Affliction, King Stingray and Drax Project, alongside record labels, publishers, distributors, promoters, festivals and managers across Australasia and international markets. Walkom, who was named in Billboard's 2025 Top Music Lawyers list and recently helped broker BMG's acquisition of Wolfmother frontman Andrew Stockdale's publishing and recorded music rights, is joined at the firm by lawyer and musician Lauren Holyoak. He also runs management company and label We Are Golden and sits on the boards of the Association of Artist Managers and the Gold Coast Music Alliance.
