An inquest concluded he died by misadventure, with the coroner ruling that his diagnosed conditions severely limited his ability to understand the danger posed by oncoming traffic. The boy escaped after a takeaway delivery left the gate unsecured despite previous attempts to secure the property. His mother pursued him but could not catch up, and he ran into the road interpreting the chase as a game. A Honda Civic travelling at 40mph struck him on 10 March; police determined the driver, who was on a hands-free call, had insufficient time to react. The driver began administering first aid immediately and tested negative for alcohol and drugs. The coroner noted that Logan's mother had done everything reasonably possible in extremely difficult circumstances.
