Avatar’s New Fighting Game On Switch Won’t Have Crossplay At Launch
Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game will launch on Nintendo Switch this week without crossplay, meaning Switch players won't be able to compete against those on other platforms at launch. The developers confirmed the omission in a last-minute notice, saying crossplay support is planned for a future update but gave no firm timeline, a situation similar to Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection, which added crossplay some time after its own launch.
The Switch version will also be available only as the Standard Edition, without access to the Deluxe Edition or language localisation beyond English at launch, though the developers say they intend to add these features later too. Separately, the same announcement confirmed the game's Xbox release has been delayed to 3rd September 2026 due to unspecified "backend" issues.
