Avenged Sevenfold have unexpectedly released a four-track EP, ‘Statica’, marking their most substantial new music since 2023’s ‘Life Is But A Dream…’. The release continues the California band’s shift towards experimental, futuristic sounds, combining robotic vocals, science-fiction synths and electronic dance rhythms rather than their earlier, more conventional heavy metal style.

The EP contains ‘Lights’, ‘Statica’, ‘Rejoice’ and ‘Ashes’, and follows December’s standalone single ‘Magic’, released with a Call Of Duty: Black Ops 7 update. It arrives a day before the band begin a co-headline North American tour with Good Charlotte in Ridgedale, Missouri, running from 25 July to 30 August and ending in Los Angeles.
