Marvel has confirmed the runtime for "Avengers: Doomsday" ahead of ticket sales opening on 20 July, revealing it will be the second-longest film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's history. The disclosure comes as anticipation builds for one of the year's most eagerly awaited releases, with the MCU set to return to cinemas this month via "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" on 31 July, which is expected to lay the groundwork for the next major team-up film.

"Avengers: Doomsday" will run for 165 minutes, or 2 hours and 45 minutes, according to The Hollywood Reporter, placing it just behind "Avengers: Endgame", which remains the longest MCU film at 181 minutes (3 hours and 1 minute). By comparison, "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" clocks in at 144 minutes. The news follows a busy year for Marvel, which has already delivered "Wonder Man" (which earned Yahya Abdul-Mateen II an Emmy nomination), "Daredevil: Born Again" Season 2, "The Punisher: One Last Kill", and the ongoing second season of "X-Men '97".
