Marvel has re-released "Avengers: Endgame" in cinemas as "Avengers: Endgame Encore" with four brand new scenes totalling four minutes of additional footage, designed to bridge the 2019 film with the upcoming "Avengers: Doomsday" releasing 18 December. The new sequences were shot during "Doomsday" production and introduce major plot developments including the collapse of the multiverse, the emergence of Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom, and interactions between characters that set up the sprawling team-up film.

The four scenes feature: Loki visiting Steve Rogers and Peggy Carter's home in his Time Variance Authority uniform to discuss multiverse instability caused by Steve's time travel; the Time Variance Authority discovering multiple alternate Earths colliding catastrophically in a multiverse incursion; Bruce Banner confronting Doctor Doom in an underground facility after his capture in "Spider-Man: Brand New Day"; and Doctor Doom appearing in the final post-credits scene. These additions establish connections between multiple Marvel universes, including Fox's "X-Men" and the Fantastic Four, whilst setting the stage for their clash with the Avengers.
