Chicago post-punk band Axis: Sova have announced a new studio album, Flowerage, due out on 23 October via Ty Segall's Drag City imprint GOD? Records. The trio – Brett Sova, Jeremy Freeze and Josh Johannpeter – have shared the lead single "Blow Up", a driving, riff-heavy opening track that critics have likened to Wire or Mission of Burma reworked through a classic-rock lens, with hints of Rush and Devo's nervy energy.

Flowerage will feature nine tracks, including "Fictional Autonomy", "Fever Days" and closer "Monterey", and arrives with an accompanying music video for "Blow Up" directed by Sean Pierce. The band have also lined up a run of North American tour dates in November, taking in Minneapolis, Chicago, Kingston and Brooklyn, with pre-orders for the album now open.
