A woman in Wales gave birth to her daughter in a Cineworld cinema whilst watching Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. The rapid, unexpected delivery occurred just 40–45 minutes into the film, resulting in the unusual circumstance of "Cineworld" being recorded on the baby's birth certificate. Molly Connah, aged 32, was one day overdue when she attended the cinema in Broughton, Flintshire, with her nine-year-old son and parents. She experienced an extremely rapid labour, delivering her 7lb daughter, Elsie Lamb, at 4:57pm with minimal medical intervention—her mother assisted by placing the newborn on her chest before a paramedic arrived moments later. The Cineworld staff, including manager Michelle McClean, provided crucial support by calling 999 and using towels and sheets to shield the mother from other cinema-goers. Both mother and baby are reported to be well, and the family later returned to the cinema with gifts and chocolates to thank the staff, receiving four complimentary cinema passes.
