‘Baby Reindeer’ Actress Nava Mau Joins Mariel Hemingway & Sophia Adler In Deborah Kampmeier’s ‘Holy Whore’
Nava Mau, known for Baby Reindeer, has joined the cast of Deborah Kampmeier’s independent drama Holy Whore alongside Mariel Hemingway and Sophia Adler. The film follows Carmine’s journey from prostitution and drug addiction to becoming a sex therapist and later reclaiming sex work as a means of helping others, exploring sexuality, violence and healing without judgement.
Hemingway will play present-day Carmine, while Adler portrays her younger self; Mau will play Alex, Carmine’s charismatic best friend and roommate, whose shared rehabilitation experience becomes a turning point in Carmine’s life. Filming is scheduled to begin in Mexico in late summer, marking Kampmeier’s first feature film in six years; Mau’s previous work includes Baby Reindeer, Generation and You.
