‘Backyard Baseball’ to Be Adapted as an Animated TV Series Starring Tiffany Haddish

Playground Productions is adapting the video game Backyard Baseball into an animated programme, Backyard Sports: The Animated Series. The move expands the revived children’s sports franchise beyond games, aiming to introduce its long-running characters to new audiences while appealing to players familiar with the original series.
Tiffany Haddish will voice Kiesha Phillips, alongside Donald Faison, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Arturo Castro as Pablo Sanchez and several other actors. The series will have 20 episodes of roughly 11 minutes each, with Chris Waters as showrunner; it was announced around San Diego Comic-Con after a new version of Backyard Baseball launched on 9 July, with console releases planned.
