Baldur’s Gate 3, Clair Obscur actor Jennifer English withdraws from Tides of Annihilation to “look after her mental and physical health”
Jennifer English, known for her roles in Baldur's Gate 3 and Clair Obscur, has withdrawn from voicing protagonist Gwendolyn in Eclipse Glow Games' upcoming action title Tides of Annihilation. In a statement posted to Instagram, English described the decision as necessary to address her mental and physical health needs as the project progresses into its next development phase. She expressed gratitude for her time on the project and indicated she would continue supporting the game in an advisory role.
The studio responded with support for English's decision, confirming they had already cast a replacement actress whose background in video game work had impressed both English and the development team. The new performer is currently recording Gwendolyn's dialogue for the planned gamescom 2026 hands-on demonstration in August. Eclipse Glow Games praised English's contributions to the character and wished her well, whilst English voiced her enthusiasm for the replacement's interpretation of the role.
