Polygon · 3 hours ago

The official Baldur’s Gate 3 colouring book, released on 11 August by Ten Speed Press, contains hidden references to the role-playing game’s characters, locations and quests. Illustrator Jaki King has explained several Easter eggs in a Reddit post and video, giving fans another way to revisit Faerûn and rewarding close attention to the book’s artwork.

The 80-page book includes companions and settings from the Underdark to Baldur’s Gate. Its most elaborate reference is Raphael’s chessboard, arranged as move 18 of the 1851 “Immortal Game”, whose sacrifices reflect the choices players make to finish the game; other details reference spiders in the Goblin Camp, Grymforge’s floor and lava strategy, the Arcane Tower lift, Minsc and Boo’s location, and the rescued gnome Obelia Toobin.
