The song reportedly denies the term "genocide" in relation to Israel's actions and was, according to Boy George, created using AI, prompting swift criticism from fans and industry figures alike. The controversy has already cost him his role in the current London Palladium production of Jesus Christ Superstar, and he says he fired Tony Pontius, former manager of his Boy George Presents label, after Pontius refused to release the track.

Bandcamp has not issued a public statement explaining the takedown, though it is thought to relate to the platform's policy against AI-generated music rather than the song's political content. The track's Bandcamp link is now inactive. Boy George responded via an Instagram video, branding Bandcamp staff with an expletive and calling the decision "so disappointing."
