Barnsley Metrodome seeks to sell alcohol until 4am

The Star (Sheffield) · 2 hours ago

Barnsley Metrodome has applied to extend its alcohol licence so it can sell drinks until 4am from Monday to Saturday. The proposal would significantly lengthen late-night trading at the leisure complex and requires Barnsley Council’s approval, giving residents and relevant bodies an opportunity to comment.

The application, made by Michael Hirst for the Queens Road venue, also seeks opening hours from 6am to 4am on those days. On Sundays, alcohol sales would be permitted from 9am until midnight and opening hours from 7am until midnight. Written representations must be submitted to Barnsley Council by midnight on 4 August 2026.
