Edinburgh producer and DJ Barry Can’t Swim, real name Joshua Mainnie, has released new single ‘Dance Dance Dance’, drawing on the French touch electronic sound of the late 1990s and early 2000s. The track marks a more flamboyant, colourful direction after the club-focused ‘Return To Bhibo’, underlining his continued momentum following his second album ‘Loner’.

Released on 24 July, the song combines shimmering synthesisers, upbeat electronic rhythms, a keytar solo and French-language vocals. It is Mainnie’s second Atlantic Records single of 2026, following a busy US period that included a KidSuper runway appearance, a Brooklyn pop-up party and a DJ set with Mochakk in Miami; his 2025 album ‘Loner’ followed the Mercury Prize-nominated debut ‘When Will We Land?’ from 2023.
