Barry Manilow has announced he is taking a break from touring after months of cancelled shows, saying he needs to prioritise his health following a demanding summer schedule. The 83-year-old singer, who successfully completed a UK arena tour in June including a show at London's O2 Arena, has faced repeated setbacks with his US dates over the past year, most recently cancelling two Las Vegas performances last week.

Manilow explained on social media that his recent 29-date, 68-day summer tour had gone well but that "we were pushing a little too hard," and confirmed he would pause performing until his return to the Westgate Las Vegas on 8th October. The break follows a turbulent year for the singer, who revealed a stage one lung cancer diagnosis late last year, leading to cancelled and postponed shows in January and February before he returned to the stage in March following a lobectomy; he has since confirmed he is cancer-free. The previously postponed Las Vegas shows are expected to be rescheduled next week.
