Bavarian politician Hubert Aiwanger found dead in Berlin hotel

Hubert Aiwanger, Bavaria’s deputy premier, economy minister and Free Voters Party chairman, was found dead in a Berlin hotel on Wednesday. He was 55; the circumstances of his death have not been established.

German media reported that Aiwanger had felt unwell and cancelled a planned speech at the opening of his party’s Berlin office for health reasons. His body was found that evening at the Neuer Fritz Hotel in Berlin-Mitte, according to Bild.
