BBC Crime Favorite Officially Locks In Return Date for Season 11

The BBC has confirmed that *Shetland* will return for its eleventh season on Thursday 12 November at 9 pm. The new series follows detectives Ruth Calder and Alison “Tosh” McIntosh as they investigate a historic murder with consequences for people in the present day.

The case begins when a car pulled from the water is found to contain the skeletal remains of an unidentified man. Investigators trace the vehicle to a respected local GP who left Shetland nine years earlier amid rumours, then examine his state of mind and the lives of those he left behind. Season 11 will be O’Donnell’s final appearance as Tosh; several returning cast members include Steven Robertson, Samuel Anderson and Lewis Howden.
