The Guardian's review praised Järvi's calm, controlled conducting ahead of his 2028 appointment as chief conductor of the London Philharmonic, and singled out Kavakos's virtuosic, technically assured performance of a notoriously difficult work.

Kavakos's playing was noted for exceptional dexterity and precise intonation, drawing spontaneous mid-cadenza applause, with Järvi sensitively supporting his rubato before a Bach encore. Howard's new work, subtitled Signal and referencing brass instruments' historic communicative role, was described as bright and celebratory, while Järvi's reading of Scriabin's lush, late-Romantic symphony was called sumptuous and emotionally forceful, even in its finale, which the composer himself had dismissed as "banal".
