The Beach Boys have cancelled four shows scheduled for late September, just one day before they were set to resume their Pet Sounds 60th anniversary tour following a two-month break. The cancellations were attributed to "circumstances beyond our control" by the venues, with no official explanation from the band, though frontman Mike Love has been dealing with unspecified health issues throughout the year. This marks the latest in a series of postponements that have disrupted the tour's schedule.

The group originally planned to resume performing on 24 September in Massachusetts, followed by dates in Pennsylvania and South Carolina before resuming fully on 9 October in Illinois. Over 40 shows have been completed this year despite ongoing concerns about Love's health, with observers noting his notably gaunt appearance and significantly weakened vocal performance during recent performances. In late July, the band had already postponed 30 dates originally scheduled through late September. Whilst the Beach Boys continue their tour plans, fellow member Al Jardine has been performing separately with his own version of the Pet Sounds Band.
