Bears star Caleb Williams could reinjure hamstring by returning too soon, surgeon says
Caleb Williams is listed as questionable for the Chicago Bears’ Sunday game against the Atlanta Falcons as he recovers from a hamstring injury. Surgeon and former college quarterback Dr Drew Burdi warned that playing before the injury has healed could lead to another tear and leave Williams out for longer.
Williams has not disclosed the injury’s medical grade, but described it as “pretty serious” and said he felt a pop. Burdi said Williams should consider sitting out if he does not feel fully recovered, since altered running could place extra strain on his body. The Bears have won two of three games without him, beating the Eagles and Jets before losing to the Packers.
