BeastLink Dev Giving Itself More Time to Tighten Up PS5 Frame Rate

Push Square · 4 hours ago

Grove Street Games, the studio behind BeastLink and previously known for its work on the GTA Trilogy remaster, has released a new PlayStation-focused trailer for its upcoming kaiju action game but stopped short of confirming a PS5 release date. Instead, the trailer simply states the game is "coming soon", suggesting the developer wants extra time to fine-tune performance on Sony's console before launch. This matters for prospective players because BeastLink's ambitious scale, including large-scale destruction and enormous creature battles, raises questions about how well it will run on PS5 hardware.

BeastLink is an online action title pitting human players against giant kaiju in destructible city environments, with support for both solo play and large-scale 32-player online matches. Players will also be able to take control of the kaiju at certain points in battle, each offering distinct abilities. While a PC Early Access version is confirmed to launch on 18th August, no equivalent date has yet been set for PS5, with the extra development time apparently aimed at improving frame rate stability.

  • BeastLink's PS5 release date remains unconfirmed, despite a new trailer.
  • Developer appears to be using extra time to improve frame rate performance.
  • PC Early Access version is still set to launch on 18th August.
