Beatles tourist attraction put up for sale amid cost of living crisis

Far Out ·

A Liverpool Beatles attraction is being put up for sale after the Penny Lane Community Trust closed last December, following a difficult year. The sale could determine how the site is used in future, as local representatives say it has potential to serve the community and draw visitors.

The attraction includes Beatles memorabilia, a themed garden with a yellow submarine donated by the Cavern Club, and former gates from Mather Avenue fire station. Rising utility costs and declining visitor numbers strained the charity’s resources. The building is being marketed to charities and community organisations, but any sale needs approval from Liverpool City Council, which owns the freehold.
