Colleague says ex-officer monitored Baird before alleged double murder
A NSW Supreme Court murder trial has heard that former police officer Beau Lamarre-Condon allegedly monitored his colleague Jesse Baird, including checking his phone, deleting messages and creating a fake dating profile. A former colleague said Lamarre-Condon took him on a Tesla drive to Paddington to check whether Baird’s new partner was nearby, then mentioned people who could dispose of Baird’s ute, prompting him to end contact.
Lamarre-Condon, 31, denies murdering Baird, 26, and Baird’s partner Luke Davies, 29, in February 2024, as well as an alleged aggravated break-in months earlier. Baird’s former partner also told the court that Baird had sounded “petrified”, allegedly saying Lamarre-Condon had a gun and had interfered with his phone and social-media contacts; the trial is expected to last 60 days.
