The Sarajevo Film Festival has introduced a tribute programme honouring Hungarian filmmaker Béla Tarr, who died this year. It highlights films by former students of Film Factory, the Sarajevo-based educational initiative Tarr founded in 2013, underlining his influence on an international generation of filmmakers.

The programme includes Kaori Oda’s “Cenote”, Valdimar Jóhannsson’s Cannes-recognised “Lamb”, Bianca Lucas’s Locarno-selected “Love Dog”, and Pilar Palomero’s “Motherhood”, which won a San Sebastián acting award for Carla Quílez. Festival director Jovan Marjanović said the selection reflects Film Factory’s emphasis on helping directors develop individual artistic voices rather than a single shared style.
