A young mother in Kansas has died from injuries sustained in a car crash, just years after she miraculously survived a separate collision that left her in a coma for months. Brittany Gondoly, 25, passed away on 26 August, five days after her Chevrolet Trailblazer collided with a pickup truck at an intersection near Andale, leaving behind 13 siblings and her three-year-old daughter, Harper. The case has drawn attention both for the tragic irony of her earlier survival and for her family's decision to honour her memory through organ donation.

The crash occurred just after 2pm on 21 August when Gondoly's vehicle failed to yield to a Chevrolet Silverado, according to the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office, which is still investigating. The Silverado's 20-year-old driver was seriously injured but is expected to recover, while no arrests have been made. Gondoly's family described her as a devoted mother who had previously survived a teenage car crash and coma after falling asleep in a pickup's backseat; they have since launched a fundraiser to cover an estimated $12,000 in funeral and medical costs, as she had no life insurance, while also finding comfort in her decision to donate her organs.
