‘Benjamin Button’ Musical Finds Its New York Cast With Tony Nominee Andrew Durand In Title Role
Andrew Durand will play the title role in the North American premiere of the stage musical adaptation of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, opening Off Broadway at the Public Theater this autumn. The production brings the Olivier Award-winning West End musical to New York, reworking F. Scott Fitzgerald’s story of a man who ages backwards into a Cornish setting.
Previews begin at the Newman Theater on 8 October, ahead of an opening night on 21 October; the run is scheduled to end on 15 November. Durand will lead a 15-strong actor-musician company, alongside Kelsee Kimmel as Elowen Keene, with original London director and designer Jethro Compton returning alongside much of the creative team.
