Benny Safdie’s forthcoming fantasy film “Lizard Music” has cast newcomer Arya Parvathi in her first feature role. Her character has not been revealed, but she joins an ensemble led by Dwayne Johnson, and the casting adds a new young performer to an adaptation of Daniel Pinkwater’s novel.

The story follows a boy who discovers a late-night broadcast featuring lizards playing strange music, leading him to the eccentric Chicken Man, played by Johnson, and his 111-year-old chicken companion. Alicia Silverstone, Regina Hall, Tim Heidecker and Theo Leber also star; Safdie wrote and directs, with production involving United Artists, Seven Bucks Productions and others.
