Berlin Pride attack believed to be an act of Islamic terror, suspect on the run: German minister

Fox News · 4 hours ago

A manhunt is underway in Berlin after a man drove a van into a crowd near the city's Pride festival and reportedly attacked people with a machete, killing one person and injuring at least 16 others. German officials, including a government minister, believe the assault was an act of Islamist terrorism, and police are searching for a 21-year-old suspect identified only as Abdul B., who is said to have ties to Germany's "Islamist scene".

The attack took place near the Pride parade route, with the van ramming into festival-goers before the suspect allegedly continued the assault with a bladed weapon, causing additional stab wounds. Authorities have not yet located the suspect, and investigations are ongoing into his background, motive and possible links to extremist networks.
