Bernie Sanders hails ‘progressive victories’ across the US

Bernie Sanders hailed what he called major progressive victories in the US midterm elections, congratulating Democratic candidates he had supported. He said voters across rural and urban areas had rejected oligarchy and backed an agenda focused on working people.

The candidates named included Abdul El-Sayed for the Senate in Michigan, alongside House candidates Adam Hamawy, Melat Kiros and Will Lawrence. Many of those Sanders congratulated campaigned on anti-war and pro-Palestinian platforms; his list also included candidates for Senate seats in Minnesota and Maine and House races across several states.
