Best Buy is offering a temporary discount on three limited-edition Xbox Elite Series 2 Core controllers, which are otherwise exclusive to the retailer. The controllers, preconfigured through Microsoft's Design Lab customisation service, are reduced from $149.99 to $129.99 this week, representing a saving of around 14%. This is notable because they use shell colourways currently unavailable through Design Lab itself, meaning buyers cannot replicate the designs by customising a controller directly.

The three variants come in red-and-blue, red-and-white, and green-and-red colour schemes, all priced identically at $129.99. The Elite Series 2 Core is functionally identical to the previous-generation $200 Elite controller, featuring adjustable-tension thumbsticks, rubberised grips and shorter hair-trigger locks, but it omits the extra paddles, thumbsticks, D-pad and travel case included with the pricier original, which can instead be bought separately as a $59.99 component pack.
