The gaming site Destructoid has published a guide to the newly released Iron Sentinel Evolution in EA Sports FC 26's Ultimate Team mode, which allows players to upgrade one of their defensive midfielders (CDM). Completing the evolution applies substantial stat boosts across five levels and transforms the chosen card into a Phenoms item, granting extra nation links. The article's purpose is to help players decide which squad members are the best candidates given the upgrade path and eligibility rules.

To qualify, a player must be a CDM with a maximum overall rating of 94, no more than 10 PlayStyles and 3 PlayStyles+, and must not be of the World Tour or Silver Stars rarity. The five upgrade levels progressively raise pace, passing, defensive and physical attributes — for example lifting Interceptions to 97, Defensive Awareness to 96 and Stamina to 95 — while adding PlayStyles such as Block, Bruiser and Tiki Taka; each level simply requires playing one match on at least Semi-Pro difficulty using the active evolution player. The author recommends candidates including Goretzka (End of an Era), Tchouameni (RTTF), Valverde (TOTS), Pogba (Ultimate Scream) and Yaya Toure (Ultimate Scream Hero), and notes that already-evolved cards, such as a 93-rated Joelinton, can also be fed into the evolution for further gains.
