A lawful permanent resident from the Philippines, Evelyn Miller, pleaded guilty to illegally voting in Pennsylvania’s 2024 federal election. Prosecutors said she registered to vote weeks before Election Day and cast a ballot despite not being a US citizen, who alone may vote in federal elections.

Miller, 37, received her green card on 19 July 2024 and registered online on 9 October, before voting in person on 5 November. The case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations and the FBI after a tip, and she faces up to one year in prison, supervised release and a $100,000 fine; sentencing is scheduled for 16 December.
