The forthcoming sci-fi spin-off *Stuart Fails to Save the Universe* will feature a crossover with DC Comics characters, its creators confirmed at San Diego Comic-Con. The series marks a major shift for *The Big Bang Theory* franchise, replacing the original sitcom format with a CGI-heavy, multiverse adventure centred on comic-shop owner Stuart Bloom and his friends.

DC Comics president and publisher Jim Lee revealed that several DC characters will appear, following the trailer’s earlier glimpse of Mr Freeze. The show reunites Kevin Sussman, Lauren Lapkus, John Ross Bowie and Brian Posehn, while creators Chuck Lorre, Zak Penn and Bill Prady say it will include alternate versions of familiar characters and numerous *Big Bang Theory* cameos, including Wil Wheaton.
