Bike rental company Lime says people are not supposed to use their bikes for jousting

A viral video showed two people jousting on Lime rental bikes before a large crowd in the United Kingdom, prompting the company to say its bikes are not intended for that use. The statement matters because the stunt drew millions of views and raised safety concerns for both riders and bystanders.

The video was created by Jack Carden, who described it as performance art, according to the BBC. Lime said it welcomes community events but urged people not to attempt bike jousting, stressing that its bikes are designed for city travel and that safety comes first.
