Billboard Brasil has launched its first national Power Players list, honouring 50 people whose work is shaping Brazil’s music industry. Luiz Oscar Niemeyer was named Executive of the Year, recognising his four decades in live entertainment and his role in major productions including Rock in Rio and large-scale concerts.

The honourees were chosen by Billboard Brasil’s editorial team for their relevance, recent work and influence across the music-production chain. They represent labels, streaming services, radio, festivals, artist management, copyright and the creator economy; Niemeyer, 70, leads Bonus Track and previously coordinated the first Rock in Rio in 1985, while his Paul McCartney concert at Maracanã drew 184,000 people.
