Bimbo Announce Debut Album The Bimbonacci Sequence: Hear “Chewing Glass”
Marquette, Michigan duo Bimbo have signed to indie label Exploding In Sound and announced their debut album, The Bimbonacci Sequence, alongside the lead single "Chewing Glass". The band, made up of siblings Gretchen McKenzie (vocals/guitar) and Dawson McKenzie (drums), describe their sound as evoking the White Stripes "if they were evil" and couldn't write in standard time signatures, drawing on influences including Metz, the Stooges, the Cramps and Krill.
The eight-track album is due out on 18th September via Exploding In Sound, with a puppet-themed video for "Chewing Glass" directed by Mark Bennett. Gretchen McKenzie said the song's lyrics were inspired by an unverifiable Instagram video of a drunk man who had face-planted through a windscreen. Bimbo will also tour extensively across the US Midwest and East Coast in October, with dates running from Milwaukee on 1st October through to Kalamazoo on 17th October.
