BioWare Fan Creates a Graveyard of Shut Down Studios at EA Offices
A BioWare fan created a Halloween graveyard outside an EA office to remember studios that Electronic Arts has shut down or heavily restructured. The display reflects fans’ anger over BioWare’s closure and the cancellation of its planned Mass Effect game, and their concern about the future of the series.
The graveyard included tombstones for BioWare, Bullfrog, Pandemic, Visceral, Westwood, Origin and Maxis, whose operations were heavily restructured. Each featured a studio logo, dates, a quote and “RIP”; the BioWare marker used a line from Mass Effect 3 character Mordin Solus. Other fans have protested with “Save Mass Effect” graffiti in Madrid and a billboard in New York, while EA has not publicly responded to the appeals.
In short
- A fan made a graveyard tribute outside an EA office.
- It commemorated BioWare and six other studios.
- Fans have also called for Mass Effect to be saved.
